"Creating a High Performance Work Culture within your business"

with speaker Jerry Ervin!

SF NACE May 10, 2011

Jerry Ervin of Paragon Strategies

What a delightful topic and speaker we were honored to have for this month's monthly meeting.  Not only did Jerry Ervin of Paragon Strategies share some wonderful tips on time management and getting things done, he made us all reflect on what we were doing now, what we would like to do and how to get it all done.  Click on his link to view more of his profile and information, but one of the things on his bio that I can truly attest to is he is FUN but gets the job done!  He has been described as a "ball of energy", "always fun and never too serious", as well as formulating and executing successful marketing programs for the dot.com businesses.

Horatio of Horatius San Francisco

This event was held at Horatius at 350 Kansas Street in San Francisco, a lovely venue that can host events for up to 400 people!  The staff and owner are warm, welcoming and ever so proud of the work that went into getting this location to be as thriving as it is!

"Magic and Life" The Magic of Realistic Thinking to Improve your Life

This month's event was simply delightful, we were nestled away in the beautiful Presidio's Golden Gate Club of San Francisco, we had fabulous sponsors such as Belli Deli Gourmet, New Delhi, Eristavi Winery,  Blue Water Party Rentals, Victory lighting, Bay Area Entertainment, all of this of course carefully planned and designed by Inna and Anna of Any Occasion Event Planning.

To make this gathering  complete, we had non other than Kim Silverman, Ph.D as our speaker and as our entertainment as well.  Kim is quite an interesting fellow, he is an Award Winning Speaker of TED Conference 2011 (Technology Entertainment Design), as well as President, Society of American Magicians (Palo Alto, CA) Magician Member, Academy of Magical Arts (Magic Castle, Hollywood, CA). To top this all off Dr. Silverman is also  a principal research scientist at Apple computers.

It was fascinating to see Dr. Silverman, walked amongst the guests and engage them in a little bit of BIG magic tricks.  His speech was personally very touching as he brought in beautiful and methodical ways of improving our lives by improving ourselves first.  If you ever have an opportunity to meet, hear him speak or even to do some of his magic, I highly encourage you to do so!  If you are wondering how does magic relate to ou or self improvement, you would be surprised.

Thank you to all of our fabulous sponsors for making this months meeting such a delightful and meaningful  event.  We hope to see you all at our gathering next month.

"I need some YELP!" The Winery SF

SF NACE "I need some Yelp!"

Tuesday, March 8, 2011

This past week we, along with many wonderful sponsors held our monthly meeting at The Winery SF on San Francisco's Treasure Island.  In the house serving up the eats and treats were Mama's Empanadas, La Tonayense Taco Truck, Mission Mini's and Treats & Sweets.  The Winery offered wine tasting and it was a delightfully urban-style gathering with some pretty awesome food!

SF NACE would like to thank all of our sponsors and a special thank you to The Winery SF for providing an excellent venue as well as a their fabulous giveaway of a wine barrel tasting for 10 people.  It's about time we have a winery such as this in San Francisco, and one that is on hand and ready to host any event or wedding.

Peter, representing Yelp, was a great speaker and he shared Yelp's vision, their purpose and how businesses could benefit from their services.  Yelp has many new added features coming so keep an eye out for these additions and see how this could help you with increased traffic to your website.  The group asked questions and many ideas were shared on how businesses could also benefit from reviews of folks like us sharing our experiences with other businesses and venues.  To see a little of what they covered at this meeting please click here to view a quick video courtesy of Yelp.

This was a fun, relaxed event that allowed for some great conversation about Yelp, and it was an excellent opportunity to once again network with other people in our industry.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming a member or coming to one of our meeting, please contact Gil Payne or Gustavo Fernandez in Membership Services.  We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting in April.

February NACE event at RF80

Last month we had an amazing turnout at our SF NACE, I am not surprised due to the fact that we held our event at the ever so plush, RF80.  And to make things even better, Mr. Robert Fountain himself was the guest speaker.

Robert spoke about some valuable lessons he learned while planning a week-long destination wedding in St. Barth.  It was refreshing to hear him speak about the challenges, and the many obstacles he came across.  The event was an amazing Persian Wedding and it was dreamy to say the least.  We laughed a lot as Robert is such a ham, but walking away with the knowledge that one can never be prepared enough for destination weddings.  And the importance to plan and check everything before one  contracts an out of country wedding or event.

The venue was beautifully designed and lit to a tee, the in-house staff was on board and made everyone feel welcomed.  We had amazing food from Top Chef's Laurine Wickett of Left Coast Catering , and Treats & Sweets,   just to name a few.

The evening was topped off with the 2011 SF NACE Board Installation, all members were introduced and sworn in, and it truly was a memorable evening of great education, networking and socializing.  Please visit us at SF NACE and see what we have got cooking up for our March 8th meeting at the SF Winery on the San Francisco Treasure Island.

Our industry is all about relationships, building them, nurturing them and honoring them.

We'd like to thank our fabulous Sponsors if you would like l to Yelp about your experience with them:
